AriaNg is a modern web frontend for the aria2 download utility, written in pure HTML and JavaScript with no runtime dependencies. It provides a responsive, feature-rich interface for managing aria2 download tasks from any desktop or mobile browser, with a native desktop variant also available.
Use cases
- manage aria2 downloads from a browser
- web ui for aria2 rpc
- control bittorrent and http downloads remotely
- monitor download progress and speeds on mobile
- manage multiple aria2 servers from one interface
- filter and sort files in multi-directory downloads
When to choose
- you use aria2 and want a polished, responsive web interface
- you need to manage downloads from desktop or mobile devices
- you want a zero-dependency frontend you can host on any web server
- you manage multiple aria2 RPC hosts
When to avoid
- you need a download manager itself - AriaNg requires a running aria2 backend
- you want a native desktop download client without aria2
- you need features aria2 does not support, since AriaNg only exposes aria2's capabilities
