A Zotero plugin that improves citation management between Zotero and Microsoft Word. It automatically organizes citations from an open Word document into a temporary Zotero collection and enables quick insertion of references with automatic merging of adjacent citations.

Use cases

• manage Zotero citations in Word documents
• automatically collect all citations from a Word file into a Zotero folder
• insert references into Word quickly from Zotero
• merge adjacent citations like [1][2] into [1, 2]
• organize references while writing academic papers in Word

When to choose

• you write papers in Microsoft Word and use Zotero for reference management
• you want citations from a document grouped into a Zotero collection like EndNote does
• you want automatic merging of neighboring numeric citations

When to avoid

• you use LibreOffice or Google Docs instead of Microsoft Word
• you are on macOS and need automatic temporary folder renaming
• you do not use Zotero for reference management
