SmartProxy is a Firefox, Chrome, and Edge browser extension that automatically enables or disables proxy usage per website based on customizable rule patterns. It lets users add sites to proxy rules with one click, switch between multiple proxy servers, and back up or restore settings.
Use cases
- automatically enable proxy for specific websites
- switch between multiple proxy servers in the browser
- route only certain domains through a proxy
- import proxy subscription lists
- back up and restore proxy rules
- replace legacy AutoProxy-style proxy switching
When to choose
- you already have proxy servers and want per-site automatic switching
- you want a configure-once-and-forget proxy extension for Firefox, Chrome, or Edge
- you need rule-pattern-based proxification with subscription support
When to avoid
- you need a VPN or expect the extension to provide proxy servers itself
- you need system-wide proxying outside the browser
- you want anonymous traffic without supplying your own proxies
