Legado (开源阅读) for HarmonyOS is a free, open-source novel and ebook reader application. It supports custom book sources with user-defined scraping rules, local TXT/EPUB reading, RSS subscriptions, and highly customizable reading interfaces.
Use cases
- read novels on HarmonyOS
- import custom book sources to scrape web novels
- read local TXT and EPUB files
- subscribe to RSS content feeds
- customize reading fonts, colors, and page-turn animations
- replace and purify content to remove ads
- convert between simplified and traditional Chinese while reading
When to choose
- you use HarmonyOS and want an ad-free, open-source reading app
- you need custom rules to fetch books from arbitrary websites
- you want to read local TXT/EPUB files with a highly customizable interface
When to avoid
- you need an app for Android or iOS from this repository (the HarmonyOS distribution is no longer fully open source)
- you want a turnkey bookstore with licensed content rather than self-configured sources
- you cannot write or import book source rules and rely on built-in catalogs
