A Decky Loader plugin for the Steam Deck that installs and manages OptiScaler to enable DLSS-to-FSR3/XeSS upscaling and frame generation in SteamOS game mode. It automates downloading dependencies, patching and unpatching games via launch options, and exposing OptiScaler settings in-game.
Use cases
- enable frame generation on Steam Deck games
- replace DLSS with FSR3 upscaling on handhelds
- upgrade FSR2 games to FSR3.1 or XeSS
- patch games with OptiScaler without leaving game mode
- add frame gen to games without native FG support
- manage OptiScaler settings across multiple games
When to choose
- you run SteamOS game mode on a Steam Deck or handheld and want DLSS-enabling frame gen/upscaling
- you want one-click install and per-game patching of OptiScaler
- you want to manage mods without switching to desktop mode
When to avoid
- you game on a standard Windows PC with native DLSS frame generation
- you need frame gen in games without any DLSS/FG pathway and can't tolerate experimental behavior
- you don't use Decky Loader
