## What it is
WakaTime is a set of open-source editor plugins (VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, Vim, and more) that automatically track programming activity and send heartbeats to the WakaTime service for time tracking, metrics, and AI coding analytics. The plugins work with a hosted dashboard and REST API that reports time spent per project, language, and AI tool.
