## What it is
Viap is a Windows desktop application for moving installed programs and selected data folders to another drive using NTFS directory junctions or symbolic links, so original paths keep working. Built with Tauri, React, TypeScript, and Rust, it adds migration history with restore, link health checks, uninstall with leftover cleanup, and disk usage inspection.

## Use cases
- move installed programs to another drive on windows
- free up space on my c drive without reinstalling apps
- migrate an appdata folder to a second disk
- relocate a game or software folder using junctions
- uninstall applications and clean leftover files
- restore moved applications back to their original drive

## When to choose
- You need to relocate traditional Win32 applications or their data folders between local NTFS drives while keeping paths intact
- You want safety checks like running-process detection, copy verification, and a migration history with restore
- You prefer a portable or installer-based GUI with light/dark themes and offline WebView2 support

## When to avoid
- You need to move Microsoft Store, UWP, MSIX apps, browser installations, or GPU drivers — use vendor or Windows tools instead
- Target software uses license binding, kernel drivers, system services, or hard-coded paths that break under redirection
- You are on a non-Windows system or want to migrate to network drives or non-NTFS file systems
