## What it is
Universal Media Server is a free, open-source DLNA, UPnP and HTTP(S) media server that streams or transcodes video, audio and images to TVs, consoles, smartphones and other devices. Originally based on PS3 Media Server, it runs on Windows, Linux and macOS and is powered by FFmpeg, MediaInfo, MEncoder and other backends.
