## What it is
TrustTunnel is a modern open-source VPN protocol originally developed by AdGuard VPN, with this repository containing the VPN endpoint (server). Its traffic is indistinguishable from regular HTTPS, letting it bypass throttling and deep-packet inspection while tunneling TCP, UDP, and ICMP.

## Use cases
- run my own vpn server that bypasses deep packet inspection
- hide vpn traffic as regular https to avoid throttling
- self-host a fast obfuscated vpn endpoint
- tunnel tcp udp and icmp traffic through a stealth vpn
- deploy a vpn protocol that resists censorship and blocking
- replace openvpn or wireguard with a stealthier protocol

## When to choose
- you need VPN traffic that looks like normal HTTPS to evade DPI or throttling
- you want to self-host a VPN endpoint with fast, low-overhead tunneling
- you prefer TLS-based encryption over custom cryptography

## When to avoid
- you need a simple point-and-click VPN without server setup
- you require WireGuard's minimal attack surface and simpler auditability
- your platform lacks a compatible client (server supports only Linux and macOS)
