## What it is
TikZiT is a simple GUI desktop application for rapidly creating graphs and string diagrams using PGF/TikZ. Its native file format is a subset of PGF/TikZ, so diagrams can be included directly in LaTeX papers.

## Use cases
- draw TikZ diagrams visually instead of writing code
- create string diagrams for category theory papers
- edit nodes and edges in PGF/TikZ graphs
- produce figures for LaTeX documents
- preview and edit .tikz files

## When to choose
- you need publication-quality diagrams in LaTeX papers
- you find hand-writing TikZ code tedious
- you draw many graph or string diagrams

## When to avoid
- you need general-purpose vector graphics editing
- you want diagrams outside the PGF/TikZ subset
- you need a web-based collaborative diagram tool
