## What it is
Supersonic is a lightweight, full-featured cross-platform desktop music player client written in Go using the Fyne toolkit. It connects to self-hosted music servers that expose the Subsonic/OpenSubsonic API (Navidrome, Gonic, Airsonic, Ampache, Funkwhale, Nextcloud Music) as well as Jellyfin.

## Use cases
- play music from my self-hosted Navidrome server on desktop
- desktop client for Jellyfin music library
- lightweight Subsonic client for Linux
- stream music from Airsonic-Advanced or Gonic
- cross-platform music player for self-hosted servers
- browse albums and artists from my own music server

## When to choose
- you self-host music with a Subsonic-compatible server or Jellyfin and want a native desktop app
- you want a lightweight, cross-platform player with dark/light themes
- you prefer open source (GPL-3.0) desktop clients over web UIs

## When to avoid
- you need a mobile client
- you want to manage or host the music server itself
- you need local-only playback without a server backend
