## What it is
Selfspy is a Python daemon that continuously logs user activity on the computer—keystrokes, window titles, and clipboard content—storing it in a database for personal statistics. It is inspired by the Quantified Self movement and works on Linux/X11, macOS, and Windows.

## Use cases
- track everything I do on my computer for personal statistics
- quantified self activity logging
- log keystrokes and window usage for personal analytics
- remember what I was working on last week
- analyze my computer usage habits

## When to choose
- you want detailed local logging of your computer activity for self-analysis
- you are on Linux/X11, macOS, or Windows and comfortable with Python 2.7 tooling
- you want a self-hosted, privacy-conscious personal data logger

## When to avoid
- you need a maintained tool—last release was 2019 and it only supports Python 2.7
- you need modern OS support (Wayland, recent macOS security models)
- you are uncomfortable with keystroke logging on your machine
