## What it is
A Claude Code / Codex / Cursor skill that acts as a scientific data visualization advisor, profiling data and recommending the right chart type before rendering publication-grade figures for journals like Nature, Science, and IEEE. It is built on matplotlib, seaborn, SciencePlots, and plotly, with CJK font auto-configuration and a post-render visual QA loop.

## Use cases
- create publication-quality figures for a journal submission
- decide what chart type fits my data and argument
- make matplotlib figures that meet Nature single-column sizing
- stop Chinese characters rendering as boxes in plots
- automatically check figures for clipped or overlapping labels
- export figures as vector PDF/SVG at correct DPI
- get chart recommendations from exploratory data analysis

## When to choose
- you write papers and need journal-compliant figures
- you use Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor and want an advisor that reasons about chart choice before plotting
- your data has CJK text that breaks in matplotlib
- you want automated visual QA on rendered figures

## When to avoid
- you need a standalone GUI plotting application rather than an AI coding-agent skill
- you need dashboards or BI-style interactive analytics
- you don't use an LLM coding agent and just want a plotting library
