## What it is
Open Props is a collection of 500+ CSS custom properties (design tokens) covering colors, gradients, shadows, typography, easings, animations, sizes, borders, z-indexes, and media queries. It is framework-agnostic, incrementally adoptable via CDN, npm, JS modules, or individual prop packs, and includes optional normalize stylesheets.

## Use cases
- use consistent design tokens across a website with css variables
- add pre-made shadows easings and animations to my css
- get a design token json file for figma or style dictionary
- normalize html element styles with light and dark theme support
- import only the css props I need like colors or gradients
- make components look consistent without a full css framework

## When to choose
- you want lightweight, non-prescriptive design tokens usable in any framework
- you need granular prop packs or prefixed/shadow-dom builds
- you want design tokens exportable to Figma or Style Dictionary

## When to avoid
- you want a full component library with prebuilt UI components
- you need utility classes rather than CSS custom properties
- you prefer an opinionated styling system like Tailwind
