## What it is
NeuralPi is a DIY Raspberry Pi 4-based guitar pedal that uses neural networks to emulate real amplifiers and distortion/overdrive pedals in real time. The software is a JUCE-built VST3 plugin that runs on Elk Audio OS on the Pi and can also be used as a standalone Win/Mac plugin with remote WiFi control.

## Use cases
- build a DIY neural network guitar pedal on a Raspberry Pi
- emulate real amps and overdrive pedals with machine learning
- run neural amp models as a VST3 plugin on Windows or Mac
- control amp models remotely over WiFi from a computer
- load custom trained amp/pedal tone models
- create a low-cost (~$120) hardware amp simulator

## When to choose
- you want a DIY hardware neural amp emulator on Raspberry Pi 4 with Elk Audio OS
- you want to try GuitarML neural amp/pedal models as a desktop plugin before building hardware
- you need real-time guitar amp modeling with model selection, EQ, and gain controls

## When to avoid
- you need instrument-level output directly into a guitar amp (HiFiBerry output is line level)
- you want a turnkey commercial amp simulator rather than a DIY build
- you need a plugin format other than VST3/AU or a platform without builds
