## What it is
Neomacs is a work-in-progress rewrite of GNU Emacs in Rust with a GPU-accelerated display engine (wgpu), aiming for 100% Emacs/Elisp compatibility, multi-threaded Elisp, and a concurrent zero-pause garbage collector. It is a hard fork of GNU Emacs with the ~300,000-line C core replaced by Rust, verified against GNU Emacs as a test oracle.
