# PragmaticFlow/NBomber

Distributed load-testing framework for .NET. Create distributed load test scenarios entirely using plain C# or F#. It is designed to test any system regardless of the protocol or a semantic model (Pull/Push).

## What it is
NBomber is a distributed load-testing framework for .NET that lets you write load test scenarios in plain C# or F# with no dependency on protocol (HTTP, WebSockets, gRPC, AMQP, MQTT, SQL) or semantic model (Pull/Push). It supports distributed cluster execution, load simulations, real-time reporting sinks (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, Grafana, OpenTelemetry), HTML/CSV reports, and CI/CD integration via xUnit/NUnit runners.

## Use cases
- load test an HTTP API with thousands of concurrent requests
- stress test a WebSocket or gRPC service
- run distributed load tests across a cluster of machines
- catch performance regressions in CI/CD pipelines
- simulate realistic production workloads with dynamic load simulations
- stream load test metrics to Grafana or InfluxDB for real-time monitoring
- convert integration tests into load tests
- load test databases like Redis, MongoDB, or SQL

## When to choose
- your team works in .NET and wants load tests as code in C# or F#
- you need protocol-agnostic load testing beyond HTTP (WebSockets, gRPC, AMQP, MQTT, databases)
- you want distributed load generation across multiple agents or Kubernetes
- you need real-time metrics streaming to observability platforms like Grafana or Datadog
- you want to debug load tests in your IDE like normal code

## When to avoid
- you need a no-code UI-only load testing tool for non-developers
- your stack is not .NET and you prefer a language-native tool like k6 (JavaScript) or Locust (Python)
- you only need simple HTTP smoke tests with minimal setup
- you require an open-source license for the NBomber Studio management tool in an organization (it requires a paid license)
