## What it is
LikeC4 is a modeling language (DSL) and toolchain for describing software architecture as code, inspired by the C4 Model and Structurizr DSL. It generates live, interactive diagrams from architecture models, with a CLI, VSCode extension, and embeddable React/Web Components.

## Use cases
- visualize software architecture as code
- generate C4 diagrams from a DSL
- keep architecture diagrams up to date in git
- embed interactive architecture diagrams in docs or React apps
- validate architecture changes and catch drift
- expose architecture model to AI agents via MCP

## When to choose
- you want architecture-as-code with versioned, reviewable diagrams
- you need customizable notation and nested architecture levels beyond standard C4
- you want diagrams embedded in docs, websites, or React apps
- your team collaborates on architecture via Git workflows

## When to avoid
- you need drag-and-drop diagram editing rather than code-defined models
- you only need one-off ad-hoc diagrams without a maintained model
- you require full Structurizr compatibility or its specific tooling
