## What it is
Kolide Fleet was an open-source osquery fleet manager written in Go, providing a control server for managing and querying osquery deployments across hosts. It was officially retired and archived by Kolide in November 2020 and receives no updates or security patches.

## Use cases
- manage a fleet of osquery agents from a central server
- run distributed SQL queries against many hosts
- collect endpoint telemetry for security monitoring
- monitor server infrastructure with osquery
- aggregate osquery result logs in one place

## When to choose
- you maintain a legacy deployment and need reference material for the archived codebase

## When to avoid
- you need an actively maintained osquery fleet manager
- you require security patches or bug fixes
- you are starting a new endpoint visibility project
- you need vendor support
