## What it is
Jekyll-Scholar is a set of extensions to the Jekyll static site generator aimed at academic bloggers. It formats bibliographies and reading lists from BibTeX files using CSL styles and adds citation tags to blog posts.

## Use cases
- render a bibliography from bibtex on my jekyll blog
- add citations to static site blog posts
- format reading lists with apa or mla styles
- publish an academic homepage with publications list
- use csl citation styles in jekyll

## When to choose
- you already use Jekyll and need bibliography or citation support
- you want CSL-based formatting of BibTeX references on a static site

## When to avoid
- you deploy via the default GitHub Pages plugin whitelist, since custom plugins are not allowed there
- your site is not Jekyll-based

## Facets
- artifact type: plugin
- maturity: active
- function: static-site-generator, templating, documentation
