## What it is
Capacitor Next is a local-first web UI for FluxCD and Kubernetes, distributed as a single binary that serves a built-in webserver using your kubeconfig. It provides resource discovery, Flux resource trees, Kustomization diffing between cluster and git state, Helm history and rollback, logs, metrics, and keyboard-driven navigation—like k9s but in the browser.

## Use cases
- browse kubernetes resources with a ui instead of kubectl
- view fluxcd kustomization diffs between git and cluster state
- inspect helm release history and roll back deployments
- view pod logs and metrics in a browser dashboard
- manage multiple kubernetes clusters from one local tool
- give developers an argocd-like ui for a flux gitops setup

## When to choose
- you use FluxCD for gitops and want a UI comparable to ArgoCD's
- you prefer a lightweight single-binary local dashboard over hosting a full web dashboard
- you want k9s-style keyboard navigation in a browser
- you need multi-cluster visibility with RBAC respected

## When to avoid
- your team uses ArgoCD rather than FluxCD
- you need a fully hosted, always-on dashboard with team authentication out of the box (team self-hosting is still in beta)
- you only need raw kubectl scripting rather than a visual interface
