# s0xDk/ghostty-blackhole

Ghostty Blackhole puts a real, ray-traced black hole inside your terminal. It grows as Claude Code's context window fills up, live. A fresh session is a quiet hole in the corner. A full one swallows half your screen. You'll always see /compact coming.

## What it is
A Ghostty custom shader (GLSL) plus a Python script that renders a physically ray-traced black hole inside the terminal. The hole grows in real time based on Claude Code's context-window fill level (or a pomodoro clock), using live Schwarzschild geodesic integration for lensing, an accretion disk, and a photon ring.

## Use cases
- visualize how full my Claude Code context window is
- see when /compact is coming without reading a number
- add a ray-traced black hole to my Ghostty terminal
- gravitationally lens my terminal text with real physics
- use a pomodoro timer that grows a black hole in the terminal
- show a status line with context fill, model, branch, and cost

## When to choose
- you use Ghostty 1.3+ on macOS or Linux and want ambient context-window awareness
- you want a visually striking, physics-accurate terminal shader
- you want a single shader file and script with no daemons

## When to avoid
- you don't use Ghostty or Claude Code
- you need a low-distraction terminal or run on Windows
- you need precise numeric context metrics rather than an ambient visual
