## What it is
Amazon EKS Anywhere is an open-source tool for creating and operating Kubernetes clusters on your own infrastructure, built on Amazon EKS Distro. It provides full lifecycle management (create, upgrade, scale) of on-premises or edge clusters via the eksctl-anywhere CLI and declarative cluster specs, supporting vSphere, bare metal, Nutanix, CloudStack, and Snow providers.

- you have reliable connectivity to an AWS region and prefer AWS-managed control planes (EKS Hybrid Nodes or EKS on Outposts)
- you want a fully managed cloud Kubernetes service
- you need a provider outside the supported infrastructure list
- you only need a lightweight local dev cluster (Docker support is non-production only)
