## What it is
CodeTriage is a web application that helps developers start contributing to open source by subscribing to GitHub repositories and receiving one open issue per day in their inbox with triage instructions. It is itself a Ruby on Rails app using Sidekiq background jobs to pull issues from the GitHub API and assign them to subscribers.

## Use cases
- find good first issues to contribute to open source
- get a daily open issue emailed from repos I follow
- help maintainers by triaging GitHub issues
- build a habit of contributing to open source projects
- discover open source projects that need help
- add a contributors badge to my repository README

## When to choose
- you want a low-pressure, habit-forming way to start contributing to open source
- you maintain a repo and want volunteer help triaging issues
- you want to self-host a Rails-based issue triage service

## When to avoid
- you need automated issue management or bot-based triage rather than human volunteers
- you want a CLI or library rather than a hosted web service
- you need deep GitHub project analytics beyond issue assignment
