## What it is
CLI Agent Orchestrator (CAO) is a Python tool that coordinates multiple AI coding CLIs (Claude Code, Kiro, Codex, Copilot CLI, Cursor CLI, and others) by running them in isolated tmux sessions under a supervisor agent. It exposes orchestration via an MCP server, supports scheduled multi-agent pipelines, and includes a real-time web dashboard.

## Use cases
- orchestrate multiple AI coding agents in parallel
- delegate coding tasks from a supervisor agent to specialist workers
- run multi-agent AI pipelines on a schedule
- mix different AI CLI providers in one workflow
- monitor AI agent sessions from a web dashboard
- expose agent orchestration to MCP-compatible clients

## When to choose
- you use several AI coding CLIs and want them coordinated in one workflow
- you want a supervisor agent delegating tasks to parallel worker agents locally
- you need scheduled, cron-like multi-agent automation
- you want MCP-native agent orchestration with zero cloud infrastructure

## When to avoid
- you need a single-agent coding assistant only
- you require cloud-hosted or distributed agent orchestration
- you cannot install tmux or run local terminal sessions
- your provider CLI is not among the supported list
