## What it is
ClashRS is a rule-based network proxy written in Rust supporting many custom protocols (Shadowsocks, VMess, VLESS, Trojan, Hysteria2, WireGuard, etc.) with flexible traffic routing rules. It offers multiple inbound modes including HTTP, SOCKS5, TUN, and transparent proxying, plus a local anti-spoofing DNS server.

## Use cases
- route traffic through proxy servers with rule-based routing
- set up a transparent proxy with TUN on Linux or macOS
- bypass censorship using Hysteria2 or VLESS REALITY
- run a local anti-spoofing DNS server with DoH/DoT
- use a Clash-compatible proxy core written in Rust
- act as a network gateway proxying traffic for a whole LAN

## When to choose
- you need broad protocol support (Shadowsocks, VMess, VLESS, Trojan, Hysteria2, WireGuard, Tor, Tailscale) in one binary
- you want a memory-safe Rust alternative to Clash cores
- you need transparent proxying via TUN, TProxy, or redir
- you want flexible rule-based routing by IP, domain, GeoIP, GeoSite, or process

## When to avoid
- you need a fully stable, production-hardened release (it is still pre-release)
- you want a GUI-first experience (it is primarily a CLI/config-driven tool)
- you only need a simple HTTP/SOCKS proxy without rule routing
