## What it is
Brightness Controller is a Python/PyQt5 GUI application for Linux that adjusts brightness and color temperature (RGB ratios) of primary and external displays using xrandr and ddcutil. It supports an arbitrary number of displays and saving/loading color profiles.

## Use cases
- control brightness of external monitor on linux
- adjust screen brightness of multiple displays
- change color temperature of my screen
- save and load color profiles for displays
- reduce eye strain by dimming screen at night
- software brightness control on ubuntu

## When to choose
- you are on X11-based Linux and want a GUI to control brightness of multiple or external displays
- you want to save and switch color profiles
- you need per-display brightness and color temperature control

## When to avoid
- you use Wayland, which the tool does not support
- you only need keyboard hotkey brightness control without a GUI
- you need hardware-level backlight control on laptops
