## What it is
Bazarr is a self-hosted companion application to Sonarr and Radarr that automatically manages and downloads subtitles for your TV series and movies. It searches multiple subtitle providers, downloads missing subtitles in your preferred languages, and upgrades them when better versions become available.

## Use cases
- automatically download subtitles for my TV shows and movies
- find missing subtitles for my Plex library
- keep subtitles in sync with Sonarr and Radarr
- download subtitles in a specific language for my media
- upgrade existing subtitles when better ones are released
- manually search and pick subtitles for an episode
- bulk scan my media library for missing subtitles

## When to choose
- you already use Sonarr and/or Radarr to manage your media library
- you want fully automated, set-and-forget subtitle downloading across many providers
- you need per-series or per-movie language preferences and subtitle upgrades
- you want a web UI with history and manual search for subtitles

## When to avoid
- you don't use Sonarr or Radarr, since Bazarr only manages media indexed by them
- you need a standalone subtitle finder for arbitrary video files outside your Sonarr/Radarr library
- you only need occasional one-off subtitle downloads without library integration
