## What it is
Automagica was an open-source, AI-powered Robotic Process Automation (RPA) suite in Python, including a bot runtime, visual flow designer, AI UI element picker (Wand), Jupyter-based Lab environment, and a management Portal. It was acquired by Netcall in October 2020, after which the robot was no longer available under AGPL3 and the project is effectively discontinued.

## Use cases
- automate repetitive desktop tasks with a python bot
- scrape and fill web forms automatically
- automate excel and office workflows
- build rpa flows with a visual designer
- pick ui elements with ai for automation scripts
- manage and schedule automation bots centrally

## When to choose
- studying historical rpa implementations in python
- forking the codebase for your own automation project
- you already have a legacy automagica deployment to maintain

## When to avoid
- starting a new rpa project today
- you need an actively maintained tool
- you require a clear open-source license
- you need vendor support or cloud services
