## What it is
auteur is an Agent Skill (SKILL.md plus recipes and scripts) for Claude Code and other AI coding agents that directs cinematic website builds through a film-style pipeline: commit-sheet art direction, locally generated assets, WebGL/GSAP build recipes, and an executable anti-slop linter (slopscan) plus Playwright motion/a11y gate. It is a ~1MB dependency-free skill installable across 75+ agents or as a Claude Code plugin.

## Use cases
- build a cinematic landing page with an AI coding agent
- prevent AI-generated websites from looking like generic slop
- generate assets like images, depth maps, and 3D geometry via local CLIs
- enforce a motion and accessibility quality gate in CI before shipping
- add a reusable art-direction workflow to Claude Code or Cursor
- create WebGL particle, fluid, and scroll-morph effects on a landing page

## When to choose
- you use Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or another SKILL.md-compatible agent to build marketing or landing sites
- you want opinionated art direction, generated assets, and proven WebGL/GSAP motion recipes out of the box
- you need an automated gate that fails builds on AI-default design clichés and motion/accessibility violations

## When to avoid
- you need a conventional web framework or component library rather than an agent skill
- your project does not use AI coding agents, since the skill is designed to be executed by one
- you need full manual control over art direction and build tooling instead of a prescribed director's pipeline
